What?
Politics, civil society and the (agricultural) economy work together with citizens to develop a new perspective on their local food system. This involves identifying potentials, exploring scope for action and initiating concrete measures.
During a two-year funding phase, ten selected municipalities and initiatives will receive professional support with:
- the cooperative assessment of the initial situation
- the participatory development of their projects
- the targeted networking of relevant players
- the implementation of effective measures for sustainable food systems in municipalities
How?
B.A.U.M. Consult, together with the subcontractors Bundesverband Regionalbewegung e. V. and IKU_Die Dialoggestalter, has been commissioned to provide independent consulting services. These include the design, tendering and implementation of the program.
In addition to project management and coordination, B.A.U.M. Consult is responsible in particular for:
- close consultation with five of the ten funded projects
- support with the application and project selection process
- the development and implementation of formats for knowledge exchange and networking
First results
Numerous municipalities were already motivated and networked with each other during the application phase. An interdisciplinary jury of renowned experts selected ten municipalities for funding.
B.A.U.M. Consult has been supporting these municipalities for two years since 2025. The focus is on the development of innovative participation concepts and the implementation of concrete measures for a sustainable and future-proof municipal food policy.
B.A.U.M. Consult is also working on establishing a nationwide network for committed actors from local authorities, civil society, administration and business who are actively committed to a regional food transition: www.zukunft-aufgetischt.de
