Regulatory necessity became strategic added value: B.A.U.M. Consult supported COMPO in the participatory development of a holistic sustainability strategy. Based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified as essential, strategic sustainability goals were formulated in workshops with department representatives. In addition, key figures and control measures were defined.
At the same time, B.A.U.M. Consult drew up the first greenhouse gas balance in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), which was later expanded to include all Scope 3 categories in accordance with the GHG FLAG standard. The strategy was continuously developed further, including an in-depth materiality analysis in accordance with ESRS, the derivation of a climate target catalog and submission to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI).
B.A.U.M. Consult was also able to provide valuable input for the introduction of the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) environmental management system and the link to future ESRS requirements. This was supplemented by an Ecovadis screening with practice-oriented recommendations for action.
