WAREMA Renkhoff SE is a leading provider of technical sun shading solutions and innovative plastic components for the automotive, medical technology and building technology sectors. With the aim of making both divisions more sustainable, B.A.U.M. Consult supported the development of a well-founded climate strategy and greenhouse gas balance for companies.
As part of the collaboration, a company-wide greenhouse gas balance (Corporate Carbon Footprint – CCF) and three product-related CO₂ balances (Product Carbon Footprint – PCF) were created in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In interactive workshops with the WAREMA project team, system boundaries were defined, relevant Scope 3 categories identified and the method of data collection agreed. The CO₂ emissions along the entire value chain of both divisions were analyzed, hotspots identified and specific potential for reducing emissions highlighted.
The climate strategy included a comprehensive hotspot analysis of emission sources, the derivation of strategic targets in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the development of a scenario for reducing emissions based on the 1.5° target. In a joint workshop, SMART targets were developed for each field of action and suitable measures for CO₂ reduction were evaluated.
B.A.U.M. Consult also accompanied the entire process for recognition by the SBTi: from target definition and the preparation of documents ready for submission to validation and official accession to the Science Based Targets initiative by WAREMA Renkhoff SE.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) balances:
- Preparation of the company-wide greenhouse gas balance (Corporate Carbon Footprint – CCF) in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for Scope 1, 2 and 3
