Mobil.Pro.Fit. – corporate mobility management

Essen, 11 November 2014: Mobil.Pro.Fit is a national offer by the B.A.U.M. Group for the establishment of corporate mobility management. Corresponding projects are being started in eleven pilot regions. The German Government supports the Mobil.Pro.Fit initiative in the framework of the national climate protection initiative.

The Ruhr area is one of eleven pilot regions in Germany for the project Mobil.Pro.Fit. In November 2011, a first project round with eight participating companies and institutions was organized.
In the Ruhr area, the cities Bochum, Bottrop, Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Herten cooperate with business development agencies, the Commercial and Industrial Chamber as well as transportation companies in order to support participating companies in the development of effective and reasonable mobility schemes.

Thus, the Ruhr area is a pioneer for a nation-wide pilot project in which 160 enterprises and institutions develop solutions for corporate mobility management with the support of regional networks and consultants. The objects of investigation are all forms of personal mobility: from the transport of employees to and from work to the vehicle fleet to business trips and customer traffic. The question is: How can mobility be improved by avoiding trips, by arranging necessary trips to be more efficient and by taking into account more environmentally friendly alternatives? Considerable savings regarding costs and CO2emissions are expected to result from this initiative. Furthermore, the opportunities of deploying electric mobility will be considered in this framework.

Mobil.Pro.Fit-projects are not only offered in the Ruhr area, but also in Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Karlsruhe and six further pilot regions. Until the end of 2016, 160 enterprises and institutions are expected to develop mobility concepts in the framework of Mobil.Pro.Fit-projects.

The experience from consultancy projects on mobility such as the nation-wide funding project “Effizient Mobil” (Efficiently mobile) as well as a pilot project round in the region of Dortmund-Unna-Hamm contributed to the development of the Mobil.Pro.Fit concept.

The project concept was awarded in the framework of the KlimaExpo.NRW in North Rhine Westphalia with the distinction “Showing the way forward in climate change”.
